TOURNAMENT RULES & REGULATIONS – March, 2011
2) This tournament, in support of our rules, abides by the Alliance Hockey rules governing House League Tournaments including the Alliance Hockey Fair Play Codes. 3) The Tournament Committee reserves the right to make any or all decisions. 4) All teams must be registered prior to the start of their first game, unless prior arrangements have been made with the registrar. 5) All games in all divisions are NON-CONTACT. 6) Any player or team official that has received a suspension prior to the tournament, and that suspension has not been served or completed, a review by the Tournament Rules Committee must take place prior to the first game, in order to determine that player’s eligibility in the tournament. 7) Teams cannot dress more than 15 skaters and 2 goalies for any game, 8) There will be a two minute warm up prior to the start of each game. 9) All games will have 3 ten minute periods including Semi-finals and Finals. 10) All Tyke games will have a 2 minute buzzer for shift changes. 11) All Tyke & Novice games will have a 3 goal cap, per player per game. This will apply to all games including Semi and Championship but excludes any Overtime or Shootout. 12) In the case of a colour conflict with team jerseys, the designated HOME team will be required to switch jerseys to a non-conflicting colour. 13) All teams must be ready to play 15 minutes prior to the scheduled game time. 14) All players, coaches and team personnel must vacate the dressing room within 20 minutes of their completed game. 15) A team official must escort any player ejected from a game to the dressing room. The player is to remain in the dressing room until the game is over and must be supervised at all times – no exceptions! Failure to comply with this rule could result in the player and the head coach being ejected from the tournament. 16) Any damage done to the facilities by a player or team official will involve their immediate removal from the tournament. Upon review, the team may also be removed from the tournament. Teams will be responsible for payment of any damage done to the facilities by any of their players or team officials. 17) Any team official ejected from a game must leave the bench and surrounding area. They will automatically be suspended for the next game and upon review may be ejected from the balance of the tournament. 18) All fighting majors, match penalties, gross misconduct & game misconduct penalties will result in immediate expulsion from the tournament. 19) 3 minor penalties in a game will result in that player being ejected from the game. Second and third offences will result in being ejected from that game, plus an additional game. This is a tournament rule and does not carry over past the tournament. 20) The Referee’s decision is final. 21) Mercy Rule: If there is a five goal differential, the clock will run during the last 5 minutes of the third period. If the goal differential becomes less than 5, stop time will resume. This rule applies to ALL GAMES. 22) Curfews: Curfews can only be imposed by the Chair, or by the convener in consultation with the Chair. 24) Each team will be allowed one, 30 second time out during semi final and championship games. 25) 2 points will be awarded for a win, 1 point for a tie, 1 point for a shut out and 0 points for a loss. 26) Team advancement: Top Four teams with the most points will advance. 27) Tie Breakers: a. Most Wins in round robin games 28) THERE ARE NO APPEALS. ALL DECISIONS OF THE TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE AND REFEREES ARE FINAL.
